Christmas.

I have taken a little bit of time out this December but it has been nice to have a break and a rest as the year has been crazy busy. Not that I am moaning as I have loved every moment. As always when I create my Bouquets you have some that are your favourites. Sometimes when I start to make them I have a clear vision in my head of what they will look like but other times they just make themselves and are not what at all how I expected them to turn out.

One of my favourites this year was a 'Mad Hatters Tea Party' vibe rather than theme and the client wanted the flowers to look like they have been scooped from a meadow, full of vibrancy and colour. It was so much fun making these especially as she had the full set, from a crown, pocket bouts to table decorations. A friend in the industry supplied fabulous China tea cups, plates and teapots for a quintessential English tea party and the finished look was amazing.

The other favourite of mine was the 'Harry Potter,' themed bouquet complete with golden snitch. The bride did not want it overly themed with just a nod to the theme. We used gorgeous white fabric complete with flying owls to back the Bouquets. Hedwig as the prominent feature in festive colours due to being a December bride. The colours were taken from the Raven Claw symbol, the stems were wands which were kindly carved for me from oak from the New Forest by a gentle wizard. Other tiny touches such as metal stars, jiggle bell acorns and charms added to the enchantment. The centrepieces were made from old medicine books which I aged even more with the good old trick of Yorkshire tea bags, flowers and candles were set among the pages for a magical feel.

I have some really exciting orders and challenges next year for 2025 which I look forward to. I will not be taking on so many orders as this year as I want to spend more time on each and every booking. However I do intend to try and get to some wedding fairs this year to promote my venue dressing side of the business so it will be lovely to meet folks and say hello.

And lastly I would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a wonderful fun filled and inspiring New Year.
